Avalon Bay

    With nothing to becloud the sky
    assembled is the crew;
    we quickly all the ropes untie,
    then cast off for the blue.
    Let's make our way
    to Avalon Bay!

    Our cat’s on board to watch the bait
    and mom is at the stern,
    with brother playing second mate
    he gives the wheel a turn.
    We're our way
    to Avalon Bay!

    High on the bow, that's where I sit,
    but clinging to the rail;
    then, father slows the boat a bit
    to look for Yellow Tail.
    He knows the way,
    to Avalon Bay!

    O Catalina, isle afloat
    at last comes into sight!
    Quite soon, we’re mooring up our boat,
    the dinghy pulled in tight.
    We spend the day
    at Avalon Bay!

    We play and swim there, hour by hour,
    then row to town by night.
    Beneath the chiming old bell tow’r,
    casino lights shine bright.
    They gleam the way
    to Avalon Bay!

    And when the mist is dark and deep,
    then, to our boat we’ll head.
    While lapping waves rock us to sleep,
    we’re safely tucked in bed.
    We dream away
    in Avalon Bay!
