Awakening

    I walked into a room without sunlight,
    with objects most-obscured in shades of gray;
    defining lines were hidden from my view,
    I wondered how I’d ever find my way.

    But then the dawning sent a beam, so fine,
    it slipped across my sill, down to the floor;
    and, slowly, all the objects took on form,
    although unaltered from the day before.

    When hazy feelings clouded up my head,
    and even my poor, sorry heart seemed blind,
    this morning you came clearly into view--
    while blowing golden kisses through my mind.
