Beneath Heaven

Glowing twilight shades of good and ill,
come, place all tears and smiles
    beneath the fairy moon.
While I bide my time to ascertain when
    starlets will reveal their luster,
come, and kiss night’s infant cheeks.
Quietly I dance below, to the music of
the planets, then hold up a silver goblet and
    catch evening’s pensive little secrets.
Until blue flower bells ring in the dawn,
I will contently wait under purple skies--
where lofty minds gently sanctify the low.
