Fairies Rite of Spring

The meadow fairies form a ring
    and dance upon the lawn,
    with small Forget-Me-Nots in hand
    beneath the peach-grey dawn.

On grassy hills beside the birch
    they dress in flowing white,
and welcome all the tiny buds,
    a customary rite.

Until the song of spring is heard
    on tendrils rising high,
then sweet peas with their silky pods
    all bloom beneath the sky.
