The Gentle Moon's Lullaby

It’s said: the darkest corner of the sky
Is where the moon will always rise at night.
And in each lunar phase she sings a song,
    Befitting of a gentle satellite.

Perhaps an angel’s pillow has been left
In some celestial bedroom up above,
To comfort this old, weary world of ours
With a symbolic sign of heaven’s love.

When silent shadows fill my worried mind,
I’ll rest my head and make a solemn vow:
To raise a special memory of you--
Reflecting on each little joy, somehow.

Then after every star of mine is lit,
You’ll be my solace, like a shining sphere,
I'll follow on a path of tranquil dreams--
As quiet lullabies come floating near
