My Corner of the World
A belt of coral sunset lays
her dreamless head on Neptune ’s sea,
then glows across the western skies,
half-hidden by slowly cresting waves.
On salt-filled air the evening spreads,
and lower lights blink ’round the cove.
A curtain of translucency
has made it’s way across the pier.
Fine, grainy dimples in the sand
smile innocently at each star;
those constant gems, in purple skies,
watch peaceful curls on rolling surf.
The full moon rises up once more,
from the dark corner of my sky,
to lay her fair hands gently down
on this small section of my world.
