Last night I caught the glimmer of your smile
Inside my dream, and watched you wander near.
I thought the evening added a new star
That drifted from another lovely sphere.
The northern lights were out, the night was clear,
Reflections on the lake lay silver-blue;
Your scent was in the pine trees by the lawn,
I slowly took a breath and thought of you.
My grief was calmed, and then you somehow drew
The eastern moon, in all her royal gowns,
Above the hills where ptarmigan reside,
While nature soothed us with her lovely sounds.
And when we walked upon the winter grounds,
Celestial colors gathered at our feet
And lifted us together in the air,
Then tied us in a gentle bond, so sweet.
