October's Charm
.October wrote a poem, for the trees
and read it to the hilltops as she strolled.
While rising on the cool staccato breeze,
in passing, she touched branches flecked with gold.
The Sweet Gum and the Maple had arranged
to lift their leaves with every rhyming phrase;
with each alliteration all stood changed--
their once so verdant foliage now ablaze!
October’s soft, effusive kiss of love,
has blessed the amber leaves, before they go.
Her verse, an affirmation, swirls above,
assuring life will follow winter’s snow.
